Bourgueil wine festival, mega sale of second-hand clothes, free sports… 16 ideas for outings for your Touraine weekend

Every Friday, Info Tours selects a series of events for the weekend in Indre-et-Loire. Here’s our selection for March 20th.

Drink a shot (in moderation)?

This Saturday the wooden chalets will resume their service on the Heurtelouplaan in Tours. No, not a Christmas market but a gathering of winegrowers from the Bourgueil region for their annual celebration in the largest city in the department (cancelled two years ago due to Covid). It will be the 18and edition is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The tasting glass costs €2 and introduces you to the 2021 vintages. No less than forty farms will be represented… Plus the pastry chef who makes the famous Bourgueilloise galette, a local adaptation of the Tropézienne.

There is also a bit of a challenge: the traditional “Saint-Vincent” awards reward the best cuvées of rosé, spring red and maturing red and, since last year, the best Chenin Blanc from AOC plots. The trophies, which will be presented to the winners at the end of the morning inauguration, are original works in freestone, made by the sculptor Valérie Herlin. Each child gets a book of games and coloring on the vine! Not to mention the balloons handed out to them.

It’s not just wine to buy! The clothing store of the Red Cross in St-Cyr-sur-Loire, rue Louis Blot 148, is organizing a special childcare sale this Saturday from 9.30 am to 3 pm. You will find pants, sweaters, bags, shoes but also toys. In short, everything you need for 0-16 year olds.

And then in Tours, it’s the return of the mammoth sale of second-hand and vintage clothes in Mame. Saturday and Sunday, many clothes with a single price per kilo: 28€. For example: Levis 501 jeans from the 80s/90s, 700 grams = € 19.50, a brand t-shirt from the year 80/90, 150 grams = € 4.50, a sweatshirt from the year 80/90, 400 grams = € 12 , a dress 80/90 200 grams = € 6). Finally, a closet emptying is planned for Sunday in the gym of Luynes. It will be between 10:30 AM and 6:00 PM. Restoration and refreshments on site.

The female creation festival Bruissements d’Elles continues until March 25. One of the events planned is this show on Saturday at 8.30 pm in the Oésia hall in Notre-Dame-d’Oé: Our Antigone(s)† Prices: between 10 and 16€. The pitch: A young girl who is completely devoted to her family in Garnier, she says “no” to adults in Anouilh. Brecht sees it as an uprising and the Living Theater as revolutionary. Others point out that it just follows tradition. But who are our Antigone(s), those of today? Do they fight in their own name or do they condemn the violence of our societies?

Improvement evening…

The collective of amateur actors of the Tours Impro Club hijacks the Bateau Ivre on Sunday from 6.30 pm for a second open stage of theatrical improvisation, inviting actors and actresses from all companies in Touraine and elsewhere to join them on stage. The master of the game will help the audience to find improvisational themes to give to the actors who want to go on stage, to improvise stories together. Registration until 6.45 pm and the scenes start at 7 pm.


On Sunday, Chambray-lès-Tours gives an appointment for a “Poetic Promenade” with the intervention at 11 am and 3 pm by the double bassist and singer Mélanie Loisel (courtyard of the town hall) and at 4 pm and 5 pm for “spring surprises” with the choir La Chambriolle. Chambray will also be infused with poetry with the exhibition of 72 poems, produced by children from two schools (Paul Louis Courrier and Claude Chappe) as part of workshops led by the two poets Marie Remande and Véronique de Crouy Chanel and 12 poems written by participants in the cycle of writing workshops organized in the Mediatheque and led by Marie Remande.

As for literature, keep in mind that the central library of Tours is open on Sundays from 2:30 pm to 6:00 pm, like once a month.


From Sunday to Le Printemps du Cinéma: screenings are €4 for all films.


Disguises in number expected Sunday afternoon in Bléré. Start of the festivities at 2 pm in the city center, face paint offered to children until 3 pm, games stall, refreshment bar, music then wander from 3 pm, awards ceremony at 4:30 pm for the costume contest. The stalls close at 6pm.

Festival for young audiences…

the 22and edition of Circuit Biscuit starts this Saturday at Espace Malraux in Joué-lès-Tours (then it lasts until March 31st throughout the city and in the neighboring city of Tours). From 4 pm to 6 pm: Parent-child workshops to share in small groups (songs, nursery rhymes, visual arts, etc.). Free entry subject to availability (limited number of places). Registration from 3:15 pm 6 pm: Surprise with the Bout’chou Bout’chant choir and the workshop participants.


For the third year, the Touraine Plongée club is organizing a regional Sports Diving Championship on Sunday in the pool of the Gilbert Bozon swimming pool. This day will bring together about a hundred participants, including the champion and vice-champion of France and about forty referees. This competition will select some athletes who will compete on the weekend of June 18 at the French Championship, also organized in the Bozon pool with Touraine Plongée as a support club.

In volleyball, Tours will receive Narbonne in the championship on Saturday at 8 p.m.

And then in hockey, the Remparts de Tours start their play-down games to try their maintenance in D1, on the 2and national level behind the Magnus League. They will face Montpellier twice: Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 3.30pm. It happens at the Sanitas rink. Tickets are on sale at the club’s online box office.

Finally, the City of Tours organizes an afternoon to discover sports on Simon Island (access via the Pont Napoélon). The principle is simple: initiations and discovery of outdoor sports! Canoeing, skateboarding, orienteering, mini golf… Admission is free, Sunday from 1 pm to 5 pm!
