As part of the month of history and on the occasion of the armistice of May 8, 1945, the media library of Saint-Yrieix-la-Perche offers two exhibitions, until May 21, Guingouin, a leader of the maquis and Children of the Resistanceas well as three animations.

– Wednesday 11 May, at 3 p.m., a meeting is planned with the author Yann Fastier, around the exhibition Guingouin, a leader of the maquismade from the author’s album of the same name, followed by a book signing.

– Wednesday 18 May, at 6 pm, a theatrical reading of War of the Worlds by Orson Welles is offered by the theater group of the IUT de Guéret. From 12 years.

– The choir ensemble formed by the choir of the Paul-Langevin college in Saint-Junien and the Friends of Langevin will give a concert on Tuesday 10 May and Thursday 12 May at 8.30 pm in the conference hall of Saint-Junien. The theme chosen this year is “Long live the 70s”!

– Guitarist-singer Georges Folkwald will perform on Wednesday 11 May at 8 pm in the third place L’Escalier in Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat. Originally from Vannes, Georges Folkwald began his professional career as a musician for various formations and artists, alternating drummer, bassist and guitarist, before devoting himself to writing and directing his personal project in a blues and rock aesthetic. He has three albums to his credit.

– The Jacques-Prévert Cultural Center in Aixe-sur-Vienne will host a Baptiste Dupré concert on Saturday, May 14 at 8.30pm. His new album, on which the talented trumpeter Stéphane Belmondo came to make notes, wanders between folk, jazz, rock, pop.

– Friday, May 13 at 8.30 pm, the cultural center Jean-Pierre-Fabrègue in Saint-Yrieix-la-Perche offers The Cata Divasproduced by Bonnes Nouvelles productions. On stage, a pianist, a soprano and a mezzo-soprano humorously revisit a varied lyrical repertoire by reinterpreting classics from opera and operetta. Light and fresh, the three protagonists, passionate about singing, allow the public to discover or rediscover well-known pieces by Offenbach, Bizet or Verdi.

Theater

The company 3 hairs and 1 ch’veu presents the piece Is there a pipe under the hat? Friday, May 13 at 8:15 pm at the Jean-Moulin Cultural Center in Limoges, a comedy written by Mathieu Labrousse, starring Fred Marchandon and Mathieu Labrousse.

The Pitch: Jérôme left home twelve years ago to pursue a career as a singer, and now he would like to see his son Thomas, a renowned youtuber, again. Did Jérôme have an idea in mind? Thomas thinks he is seriously ill and agrees to see him again. But the reunion will be explosive!

Jean-François Brocard, lecturer in economics at the University of Limoges, and Maxence Franceschi, doctoral student in economics at the University of Limoges, lead a conference titled Sports and economics: place your bet!Thursday, May 12 at 7 p.m., at the BFM center in Limoges

The term “sport” is understood here in the broad sense and the questions can relate to practice, events, amateur sport or professional sport. strolling around

Every month, the city of Limoges organizes a free activity around nature, offered by the management of green spaces, the environment and biodiversity. On the occasion of the next green thumbs walk, the public can participate, Saturday 14 May at 3 p.m. a visit to the Parc du Moulin-Pinard on the so-called heather plants. Health

Within the framework of the Local Health Contract, the CPAM, in collaboration with the association La Marguerite, the association of diabetics in Haute-Vienne, the University Hospital and the city of Limoges, organizes a diabetes screening day Friday, May 13 from 10 am to 6 pm in the lobby of the Corgnac shopping center (14 rue Georges-Briquet) in Limoges.

On the program: glycemic tests, pastry tastings, sophrological walk and lots of information about diabetes in the presence of doctors and nurses on site. This free action aims to inform, raise awareness and screen the population far from health care.
