Auto racing 1966 – Ed. art circle

Motorsport is a collection of books devoted to motorsport photography. The first book starts with the year 1965. The year 1969 will be released in August 2022. These large works of very high quality and with exemplary finishes are based on the funds of the DPPI agency, founded by photographers with a passion for mechanics. The year 1966 makes it possible to follow the adventures of the legends of the time such as Graham Hill or Jack Brabham. You can also see a man named Johnny Halliday rallying in Monte-Carlo or witness the rivalry between Ford and Ferrari at the Le Mans circuit; all fueled by the anecdotes of photographer Manou Zurini, well assisted by journalist Johnny Rives. A really nice gift.

Turbulences - Ed. To put away

Of turbulence, Ben Thouard, photographer based in Tahiti, tells us about surfing through the power of the ocean. With these new images captured entirely underwater, wrestling with the waves, the author allows us to experience surfing as rare. We are confronted with the power of water, its whirlpools and its currents. And sometimes, like an interrupted moment, a plank and a man or a woman split the azure or floating on the sea.A book that is both an artistic and technical mastery of sports and underwater shooting that will not leave you indifferent. We also invite you to watch the short documentary on image capture, which is just as impressive.

The Secrets of Sports Photography – Ed. Eyrolles

The secrets of sports photography – Ed. Eyrolles

After looking at these beautiful photos, why not try taking them yourself? A small, but very comprehensive book by photographer Mickaël Bonnami gives you the secrets of successful sports photos. Technique, framing, retouching, placement… the author is not stingy with advice, but remains didactic and easy to read. He sprinkles the whole thing with rather interesting personal anecdotes. Small problem, however, with regard to the equipment: at the time that Mickaël Bonnami wrote this book (between 2018 and 2019), the market for mirrorless sports cameras was not what it is today and the author recommended rather hardened SLRs, type Nikon D5. Today, the situation has changed and sports hybrids such as the Sony Alpha 1 (A1), Nikon Z9, Canon EOS R3 and Fujifilm X-H2S are superior to the SLR, although the latter are still very effective.
