Patrick and Isabelle Balkany: another terrible blow to the couple after their conviction

According to our colleagues from Paris, the mansion of Patrick and Isabelle Balkany has been robbed. An investigation was opened and entrusted to the gendarmerie.

While Patrick Balkany is currently in prison, his wife Isabelle is in a care facility after her suicide attempt. Their house in Cossy was therefore without an owner. A golden opportunity for burglars. Indeed, according to our colleagues at ParisianIn the night from Thursday to Friday 11 March, individuals entered the terrain of the Balkans. Some personal items of Patrick and Isabelle Balkany are said to have been stolen: “The damage is still being assessed by the family”, a relative of the study would have indicated.

Our colleagues from Parisian give more details: it would be the housekeeper who discovered a broken window in the 1,000 sqm mansion. A new blow for the Balkan couple who bought this large property in 1986. But in 1997, the couple donated their house to their children, retaining the usufruct: “Our whole life is in this house”, declared Isabelle Balkany. But without the couple’s presence at the mansion, the relatives of Patrick Balkany and his wife feared a break-in.

Relatives of Patrick and Isabelle Balkany concerned

They then alerted the gendarmerie, so the police made numerous rounds around the property. Despite all precautions taken, the break-in still took place. The public prosecutor of Evreux then opened an investigation, entrusted to the gendarmerie. According to our colleagues at Parisian, tracks and clues are still being analysed. A new ordeal for the Balkan couple, but also for their loved ones, who are especially concerned about Isabelle Balkany’s health, which is still a cause for concern. The latter would have suffered the same fate as her husband had she not attempted suicide.
